Drink Responsibly: Sugar Free Chocolate Milk
Everybody loves a delicious glass of chocolate milk, especially in the summertime time. Its delectable creamy taste leaves us full and gorged, and its cool temperature leaves us feeling chilled regardless of the unbearable summer humidity. But for the weight conscious, the desire for this tasty treat may be squashed by the fret about consuming big amounts of sugar during swimming costume season. Well, fortunately there's a way you can enjoy heavenly sugar free chocolate milk!
There are 2 options regarding the chocolate itself : pre-made or home-made. If the kitchen is a foreign place to you, choosing the first option could be best. Head to your local grocers and look for something prepackaged. Major brands like Hershey's, Sorbee, and Swiss Mix all make pre-packaged bottles of sugar free chocolate syrup or sugar free dark chocolate mix. When purchasing anything prepacked, just bear in mind that there are certain to be preservatives and artificial food colours in the food you are consuming.
If you're a regular Betty Crocker, or if you're feeling adventurous, you may find the concept of making your own sugar free chocolate more exciting. All you need for this is unsweetened cocoa powder and your favourite sugar substitute like Stevia, Splenda, or PureVia. Dissolve the unsweetened cocoa powder and the sugar substitute at a 11 ratio in boiling water. Permit the blend to cool down before you carefully strain it through a coffee filter.
The next step is to find sugar free milk. You never think about milk as having sugar in it, but one cup has about twelve grams. Lactose, a commonly occurring sugar in dairy products, makes up about 4.5% of regular milk. Some makers have created lactose free milk, but the side-effect of lactose and lactase ( the enzyme used to split up lactose ), are galactose and glucose. These byproducts are still sugars, so there is not any dairy milk in stores which is totally sugar free.
As an alternative, you can mix three to 4 heaping spoonfuls of sugar free coffee creamer into water. This creates a milky texture and has no sugar! An even better alternative is unsweetened almond milk. Typically no sugar is added, and you continue to get to enjoy the sweet taste of almonds along with your sugar free chocolate you've already prepared.
The one thing left to do is mix your sugar free chocolate and your sugar free milk together at a 11 proportion and enjoy!
