Learning How To Deal With Death; Experiencing A Lifetime Set Free in Just Ten Days!
“100 per cent of us die, and the percentage cannot be increased.” C.S. Lewis
Death is a difficult topic to talk about. It is even harder to face, particularly if you have no idea what's waiting "on the other side". It's a common belief that good people go to heaven, while terrible people go to hell. But if there is no certainty, the possible can be quite frightening.
As well as an unknown destination after death, there's plenty of other items that make death hard to handle. Death is separation; separation from family and friends, from things one enjoys and well...everything.
It also implies suffering. The majority leave this life thru agony and suffering. It isn't often one just closes their eyes, takes their last breath and leaves without experiencing some type of agony. Even if one dies quickly in a wreck, there may be horrifying moments just prior to that which make their experience anything but agreeable.
Some time ago, my first husband was assessed with a fast metastasizing brain tumor and given just a couple of months to live. When I asked him if he was frightened to die he answered, "No, I'm not scared to die but I'm really scared of the process." That seemed sensible to me. He looked forward, with great joy, what was for him on the other side of death but knew the road he must take to get there would be crammed with great agony and suffering - and it was.
The present suffering and the separation from loved ones and the great unknown of dying makes it understandable why individuals are so afraid of death. Yet, Scripture shows us dying is something we needn't fear, not if we "live" right. How we live makes all the difference in how we die.
“If you live wrong, you can’t die right.” Billy Sunday
If anyone selects to live their life, for and by one's self, without God, then by their choice, when their days are finished, the only energy source and strength they're going to have to draw upon is their own. Sadly, they will quickly discover their private reservoir has nothing to offer them and even worse, they haven't any capability by themselves to get to Heaven.
Jesus is the sole way to Heaven.
John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God who is in Heaven) but through Me.”
Once we know Jesus and have a relationship with God the Father thru Him, we needn't fear death any longer.
I Corinthians 15:55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
In other words, dying no longer has the hold on you. For all believers in Jesus Christ, dying isn't final . It is just a doorway to Heaven, our ultimate destination, the home we were made for. In our everlasting home, all suffering, unhappiness, discomfort and illness will cease. We shall experience joy and delight beyond anything we could imagine. Death, then, can really become something we anticipate instead of fear because of where we will arrive. Even the process of dying loses its terrifying grip when one walks that journey with God, instead of all alone.
